Abstract Guidelines

Review the scientific presentation, award paper, quiz, video, poster, and innovation award guidelines before submitting your abstract for Delhi AOICON 2026.

Submit Abstract
Last Date 15th August 2026 for receiving entries.
Conference Dates 19th and 20th September 2026.
Registration Conference registration is mandatory for scientific participation.

Mukut Saharia Resident Award Paper

  • This competition is for thesis work conducted at a teaching institute as partial fulfilment of the MS/DNB degree.
  • The competition is open only to AOI-DELHI members who are residents or fellows of teaching institutions in Delhi and NCR.
  • It is recommended that only thesis-based studies be submitted for presentation.
  • Case reports will not be considered.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to scrutinize, limit, accept, reject, or convert submissions into free papers.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Abstracts received after the last date will not be accepted. Participants must submit a resident certificate from the Head of the Department.
  • Abstracts should not exceed 200 words in MS Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, and should be uploaded on the conference website: www.delhiaoicon.com. The same shall be published in the conference proceedings.
  • Abstracts should include the following headings: Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
  • Time allotted for presentation is 6 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions/discussion by the judges only.
  • Strict adherence to the time limit is mandatory. Non-adherence may lead to disqualification. The judges decision shall be final and binding.
  • All scientific presentations competing for medals should contain only the presenters name on the first slide, without mention of institution, place, co-authors, or HOD anywhere in the presentation.
  • Any violation will result in rejection of the paper.
  • The decision of the judges shall be final and binding on all participants.

Prakash Ved Monga Temporal Bone Dissection Competition

  • This competition is open to members of AOI-DELHI who are undergoing residency training in teaching institutes of Delhi-NCR only.
  • Only one team nominated by the Head of Department from each institute will participate.
  • Last day for submission of entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Decision of judges will be final in all aspects of the temporal bone competition.
  • Each member of the winning team will receive a medal and certificate.
  • Winners of the competition will be declared during the valedictory ceremony of the Annual Conference of Delhi AOI.

Dr Anoop Raj Resident Quiz

  • The competition is open only to residents who are members of AOI-DELHI.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Participants must submit the resident certificate from the Head of Department.
  • Each team will have 2 participants, having at least one postgraduate student.
  • Elimination round may be held in case more than 4 teams are there during the conference.
  • Final round of the competition will be held in the Main Hall during the conference in September 2026.
  • Quiz masters decision will be final in case of any difference of opinion.

Raj S P Soni Video Presentation

  • The competition is open to all delegates who are members of AOI-DELHI.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Video can be on any subject related to ENT disorders - diagnosis, management, prevention, surgery, patient education, etc.
  • Video should be in MPEG 3, MPEG 4, or AVI format. Videos embedded in PPT presentation are not allowed.
  • Only first twenty videos received before the due date will be accepted for the contest.
  • Time allowed for presentation is 6 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions/discussion by the judges only. It has to be followed strictly and non-adherence may lead to disqualification. The judges decision will be final in this regard.
  • Videos must be presented by the presenter. Dubbed videos will not be allowed.

Dr Arun Goyal Junior Consultant Award Paper

  • The competition is open only to members of AOI-DELHI less than 40 years of age.
  • Age as on 01.01.2026 should be 40 years or less.
  • Proof of age must be furnished along with the abstract.
  • Winner will be awarded a medal/plaque and certificate.
  • It is recommended to present original research papers and large case series. The Scientific Committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of presentations and also has rights to accept or reject papers.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Abstract should not be more than 200 words in MS Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, and should be uploaded on the conference website: www.delhiaoicon.com. The same shall be published in conference proceedings.
  • Abstract should be under the following headings: Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
  • Time allowed for presentation is 6 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions/discussion by the judges only.

  • The competition is open only to AOI-DELHI members more than 40 years of age.
  • Age as on 01.01.2026 should be 40 years or more. Proof of age must be furnished along with the abstract.
  • It is recommended to present original research papers and large case series. The Scientific Committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of presentations and also has rights to accept or reject papers.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Winner will receive a medal and certificate.

Best Publication Award

  • The competition is open only to Delhi AOI members and postgraduates of institutions situated in Delhi and NCR.
  • It is recommended to submit original research papers.
  • The Scientific Committee has rights to scrutinize the papers.
  • The publication copy must be submitted along with details of journal and impact factor.
  • Only publications indexed in Medline will be considered.
  • Only publications during the last 2 years will be considered: 01 June 2024 to 01 June 2026.
  • Accepted papers which are not published will not be considered.
  • The authors must be willing to present their publication during the annual conference, in case the paper is selected as best paper. Last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Conference registration is must for taking part in this competition.
  • Consent from all authors must be sent along for submission in the best paper award.
  • Presenting author shall be awarded a medal and all authors of winning paper will receive certificate of best publication award.
  • The author of best paper award will be given an opportunity to present it in the annual conference.
  • The decision of judges will be final and binding to all the participants.

Best Poster Award (Electronic Format - MS PowerPoint Slide)

  • Open for all delegates who are members of AOI-DELHI.
  • Winner will receive a medal and certificate.
  • The Scientific Committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of posters.
  • It also has rights to accept or reject posters.
  • The last date for receiving entries is 15th August 2026.
  • Abstracts received after the last date will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  • Abstract should not be more than 200 words in MS Word format, Times New Roman, font size 12, and should be uploaded on the conference website: www.delhiaoicon.com. The same shall be published in conference proceedings.
  • Abstract should be under the following headings: Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
  • A passport size photograph of the presenter should be included on the top left-hand side of the poster and name on the top right corner.
  • There should be no mention of the institution, place, co-authors, or HOD anywhere in the presentation. Any violation will result in rejection of the paper.
  • The judges decision will be final and binding to all the participants.
  • Poster to be uploaded in electronic format (MS PowerPoint slide).
  • Poster will be displayed in designated poster area on both days of the conference. The time of poster evaluation by the judges will be intimated later.

Professor P Ghosh Award for Innovation in Otolaryngology

  • The award shall be open for young innovators less than 50 years of age.
  • It is open to any aspect of innovation in Otolaryngology.
  • Nominations are invited. Self-nominations by candidates shall be allowed.
  • Please send nominations to the conference website: www.delhiaoicon.com. All nominations will be acknowledged by AOI DELHI Office.
  • Delhi AOI shall select one candidate from the nominees for the award. The President may constitute a committee for the selection.
  • The selected candidate shall present a 20 minutes lecture on his/her work at the Delhi AOI annual meeting.
  • The award shall consist of a plaque and a certificate.

Free Presentation Guidelines

  • Free Paper duration is for a total of 6 minutes only: 5 minutes presentation + 1 minute discussion.
  • The speaker should ensure that the presentation finishes exactly on time. The AV system will be shut down exactly at the end of 5 minutes. The presentation should not spill over to the discussion time.
  • Personal laptops will not be allowed to ensure smooth and seamless proceedings. No requests regarding use of the same will be entertained.
  • The presenting author has to be registered as a delegate for the conference on or before 15th August 2026, failing which he/she will not be allowed to make the presentation nor be eligible for the certificate.
  • Requests for change in presenting author will not be entertained after 15th August 2026 under any circumstances.
  • We advise that you run your presentation at least once after uploading it in the preview room at the conference venue.
  • Videos need to be embedded in your presentation and also be present as a separate file.
  • All presenting authors are required to be present at the designated hall at the start of the session. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of their presentation.
  • No request for changes in the presenting order or time will be entertained.
  • All Free Paper awards will be given to the Presenting Author on 20th September 2026 at the valedictory ceremony.

Note

  • Conference registration is must for participation in any of the award category/scientific session.
  • Postgraduates in training are eligible to apply for life membership and can start availing benefits immediately.
  • AOI Delhi shall not provide any travel grant to candidates for making the presentation or participation in award papers, quiz, etc. The same has to be borne by the candidate himself/herself.
  • All decisions of organizing committee shall be final and binding.
